We're celebrating 20 years this month and we're proud to say that the very first employee we ever hired is still working with us today.

This year, Runners Plus celebrates 20 years of serving the local running community—and we’re honored to celebrate a very special team member whose journey mirrors our own.

Brian Barker is marking his 20th anniversary with Runners Plus, and his story is woven into the fabric of who we are. A seasoned triathlete and accomplished runner, Barker brings not only decades of personal athletic experience, but also an incredible wealth of knowledge, humor, and heart to our stores every single day.

Over the years, Barker has helped shape the Runners Plus experience for thousands of customers. Whether you were looking for your first pair of running shoes, gearing up for your tenth marathon, or just stopping by to chat about gear and training, chances are—you’ve crossed paths with Barker.

Known for his patience, passion, humor and authenticity, Barker has built lasting relationships with our community, inspiring runners of all ages and abilities with his expertise and encouraging spirit.

To honor his two decades of service, we surprised him with a custom Runners Plus-themed Aventon eBike—generously crafted by our friends at Whitman’s Bike Shop in Miamisburg. It’s a small token of our immense appreciation for a teammate who has helped shape countless customer experiences and grow our business to what it is today.

Thank you, Barker, for helping us create the strong, vibrant running community we’re proud to be part of—20 years and running.  We wouldn’t be who we are today without your contributions.
